These three…are beautiful, good natured, TROOPERS. The night this family session was scheduled was not only windy, there was a wind-ADVISORY. And I happened to have picked a spot right in the windiest location– next to the lake.
I arrived early and became very very worried. I knew they had a new born, and I know that my babies don’t like the wind at all…sooo how were we going to make this work?! The second location was supposed to be with a gorgeous view up on the Butte, and that was literally off the table with the weather at this point. So now I had to come up with a *different* second location. (We went downtown and I LOVE how those turned out!).
Anyways, I should have known better than to stress, because for some reason I end up with the best clients, going with the flow and always relaxed. Their baby Oliver was so so so sweet. He fussed a little but mostly, he just snuggled his parents and looked around like guys, seriously it’s hard to breath with this wind mmmm k? These three were an absolute joy to capture on camera. It takes me back to the days when my husband and I just had one baby, were sleep deprived, always feeling aaaaall the feels, but it was a sweet time. I hope you can see that same sentiment with this beautiful family.
Also, as a side note, the wind won’t ever scare me again. It just made them look like models in front of a fan (que Beyonce). It’s time to embrace all the natural elements we get here in the PNW, because sometimes its wild and intense or soft and sunny, but either way it makes your shoot uniquely YOURs.
