Cultivating Creativity | A Coffee Project. I know I’m not alone when I say I’m a coffee addict At least two cups a day and I think that is understandable–(raise your hand all you moms of toddlers!). With its beautiful brown color (and smell and taste), coffee makes for a perfect creative photography shoot companion!

This year, I am joining in on the 365 Project. This is where you take at least one photo, EVERY day, for the entire year. The goal is to cultivate growth in your craft, find your artistic voice, and simply capture the year to look back on. It calls for pushing your limits, thinking outside the box, and cultivating creativity. By day 4, I was already itching to dive in and do something different and I had a wonderful crew– my boys. We had the tools; lights, camera, COFFEE. All we needed was a little inspiration, music, and the openness to get MESSY.

And messy we got. It looked like a bag of coffee threw-up all over my kitchen floor. Plus, Emmett “helped” me clean and shattered a light, so for a minute, things got messy AND dangerous. We had so much fun through the whole process though!! I really enjoyed involving the boys in something I love so much.

I want to give a shout out to Phil from Lake Chelan Coffee Company. This was the true inspiration for the shoot– we have finally found an espresso blend that is MAGIC. It’s consistent, I know that every morning the taste will be the same. It’s absolutely delicious, aromatic, and smooth. We stumbled upon this coffee about a month ago and I can say it’s helped our bank account too haha, I don’t go out for coffee anymore because this hits the spot!!

So here are the fun images that came from this messy, lovely shoot in my kitchen!!
